The artist formerly known as "The Ostrich" loves this place.
We made a few trips here in 2008.
Some more memorable than others.
The piano that remains in the ball room here is probably one
of the most photographed icons in metro Detroit.
Thirty plus years after the last notes were played on this piano,
and it continues to entertain.

I sit quietly listening to that final note fade, it drifts off into the world taking with it all of the awe and attention of an audience long gone.
I wait
and
wait
and
wait.
the applause never comes, the audience has long ago filed out of the great hall.
Finally I take my bow among the fallen flecks of a past grown dusty in a room cluttered with memory..
some of my best photographs have been made in this building....
Those are amazing pictures. They carry the forlorn feeling of that poor old forgotten instrument of entertainment and love. I imagine there is a strange feeling in that room, one of longing and desire to be heard.
